Welding Technician

Properly uses hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to join metal components, fill holes, indentations, and scams of fabricated metal products under the direction of the Welding Supervisor. Will be required to do one or more of the following

  • Understands and interprets the specific operation information documented on the router.

  • Clamps, holds, tack-welds, heat-bends, grinds or bolts component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.

  • Demonstrates proper and safe use of overhead crane.

  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.

  • Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment using processes such as gas metal arc, shielded metal arc, and submerged arc welding.

  • Properly operates and uses hand and power tools such as grinders, drills, and die grinders.

  • Monitors the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.

  • Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.

  • Uses protective equipment including safety glasses, welding masks, steel-toe shoes, and clothes that are not loose-fitting. Hair must be properly tied back and secured if need be.


CNC Machine Setup Technician

Properly setup, operate, and maintain a variety of CNC machines under the direction of the CNC Supervisor. Will be required to do one or more of the following

  • Understands and interprets the specific set up information documented on the router.

  • Properly inserts control instructions into machine control units to start operation.

  • Accurately calculates machine speed and feed ratios, and the size and position of cuts.

  • Mounts, installs, aligns, and secures tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.

  • Stops machine to remove finished work pieces, or to change tooling, setup, or work piece placement, according to required machining sequences.

  • Uses overhead crane for parts/assemblies over 50 pounds.

  • Demonstrates proper and safe use of overhead crane.

  • Properly cycles the CNC program.

  • Adjusts machine feed and speed, changes cutting tools, or adjusts machine controls when automatic programming is faulty or if machine malfunctions.

  • Modifies cutting programs to account for problems encountered during operation and saves modified programs.

  • Removes and replaces dull cutting tools.

  • Uses protective equipment including safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, and clothes that are not loose-fitting. Hair must be properly tied back and secured if need be.


CNC Machine Programmer and Setup Technician

Properly program, setup, operate, and maintain a variety of CNC machines under the direction of the CNC Supervisor. Will be required to do one or more of the following

  • A minimum of 10 years shop experience in lathe and vertical mills.

  • Fluent in programming a variety of controls.

  • Good understanding of current market tooling.

  • Fluent in blueprint reading and troubleshooting.

  • Supervisor experience is a plus.

  • Familiar with lean concepts and ISO.

  • Understands and interprets the specific set up information documented on the router.

  • Properly inserts control instructions into machine control units to start operation.

  • Accurately calculates machine speed and feed ratios, and the size and position of cuts.
